Installation of SNMP capable Air Velocity Sensor

Didactum`s SNMP capable Air Velocity Senso is used to measure and monitor the airflow speed of important ventilation and air conditioning systems.

This sensor can accurately measure air velocity in the range of 0 - 3 m / s. It is suitale for all IP-based Environmental and Remote Monitoring Systems of manufacturer Didactum.

Connection of the IP capable Air Velocity Sensor

Simply connect the sensor unit to the air velocity measuring unit with the supplied plug.

Then connect the sensor unit to the supplied RJ11 / R12 telephone cable.

The other end of the patch cable is easily plugged into a free sensor port on your IP-based remote measurement and monitoring device. By Didactum`s innovative auto identification feature, this Air Velocity Sensor is automatically recognized by the SNMP-enabled measuring device and displayed in it`s multilingual web interface.

Calibration of the SNMP Air Velocity Sensor

Each sensor air velocity is factory calibrated before delivery. If desired, you can recalibrate the sensor. To do this, use a normal screwdriver.

Installation of the sensor in the 19 inch server rack / cabinet

A holder in the form of a mounting bracket is supplied with this SNMP compatible Air Velocity sensor. With the help of a wire cutter and pliers (not included) you can cut and bend the holder according to your individual requirements.

Editor's note: When cutting the sensor holder, wear suitable work gloves, as sharp edges may occur when using a wire cutter.

Installation options

In the illustration below you can see a few installation options.

Editor's note:

The square opening of the air velocity meter unit must point in the direction of air circulation. If installed incorrectly, the speed of air can not be measured.

Extension of sensor connection cable

A 2 meter long RJ11 / RJ12 telephone cable is included in the delivery. Optionally, the sensor unit can be set up to 50 meters (164 ft) away from the remote monitoring device.
